Panoramic Prints (1983–1988)
John Yang used a Cirkut No. 10 panoramic camera to photograph Innisfree Garden, Millbrook, New York (1983–1986) as well as various golf courses in the New York area (1985–1988). The camera was made in 1905 but was extensively restored and customized by Yang.
In taking a panoramic picture, the camera "scans" the scene pivoting about a vertical axis while simultaneously exposing the film which is pulled past an open vertical slot. Movement of the camera and film is synchronized. Power is provided by a wound spring.
D.O.P. contact prints, 10" x up to 84" (varies by print); also printed as platinum and gold-toned P.O.P contact prints.
